Woman retires after working over 44 years at MDC

Noreen Morris of Boulder retired Dec. 31, 2018, after working 44 and a half years at the Montana Developmental Center, which served people with developmental disabilities for over 100 years before legislators in 2015 voted to close it.

She has no immediate special plans for retirement, other than spending time with her family, Morris said Sunday in a phone conversation.

When she retired Morris had been working at the Intensive Behavior Center, a 12-bed care facility legislators in 2017 voted to open at the MDC. By then most of the MDC’s clients had been moved to community-based services as mandated by the 2015 legislation.
