Bruce Binkowski, the Jefferson County Event Coordinator, said, “The presentation pointed out that social media is important not only in simply communicating, but the opportunities it presents to marketing products and services.”

Drew Dawson, chair of the Boulder Transition Advisory Council, a volunteer group that has been exploring ways to grow the local economy, said he found the workshop useful. The workshop “did a great job of acquainting a diverse audience with a very important, and rapidly evolving tool – social media.” Using that tool along with others will “help improve Boulder and assist in growing existing businesses and attracting new business- es that will provide more and better-paying jobs,” said Dawson. 

Sally Buckles, co-owner of The Gift Shop, voiced some concern about the ability to know if your social media is reaching the intended audience. “The recommendation was that for Montana audiences Facebook is best, but if you are trying to reach a broader group a website or link to a website is necessary.
