Montana has weighed in on the national, state and local elections. The most important election results reflect concerns raised by our residents right here in Montana.
We look forward to supporting the Governor’s recent “Path to Security and Prosperity” by focusing on economic development and creating additional good-paying jobs, which will lead to improved family success and prosperity.
We are committed to increasing student outcomes through enhanced educational options and greater funding transparency. The statistics show that more funding for schools does not necessarily mean that more money reaches the classroom or improves student performance. We will work toward a stronger educational system for all our Montana students with a continued focus on Career Technical Education. Over half of our property taxes go toward school funding, and we must ensure that those dollars are managed efficiently and effectively with the goal that our Montana students find their passion and are ready for the workforce to fill job vacancies in our state.
Due to high property tax rates — especially with the rising values of residential properties that affect us all — we are prepared to support viable property tax modernization. Our challenge is to avoid shifting the tax burden to other taxpayers.
We have listened to our neighbors’ concerns that taxes are too high, and that spending requires more scrutiny. On a broader scale, Montana’s economy is performing well, but residents are expressing a need for relief, better job opportunities, and lower prices, all of which contribute to the well-being of our families.
As your elected legislators for the 69th Legislative Session, we’re are honored to serve in the Montana House of Representatives for House District 75 and the newly-drawn Senate District 38. Our primary goals include reducing government and tax burdens while supporting the success of Montana’s education system, economy, and rule of law. We are dedicated to improving and preserving the unique way of life in Montana.
Please feel free to reach out to either of us with any questions or concerns. Thank you.
