Washout closes Interstate 15

The failure of a 10-foot culvert due to flooding under Interstate 15 just south of Jefferson City Friday evening closed the highway completely for more than 24 hours and shut off northbound traffic for about 48 hours.

By late Sunday evening crossovers had been built to allow one lane traffic both north and southbound at “substantially reduced” speeds.

During the closure, drivers were being advised to reroute through Three Forks and Townsend or Butte and Deer Lodge to Garrison.
