Two seats, one candidate for Boulder City Council

Only one person has filed to run for election to one of two open seats on the Boulder City Council.

Michael “Bear” Taylor seeks to be elected to the Ward 2 seat he has occupied since Jan. 22, when he was appointed to fill a vacancy created by Bettie Schlueter’s resignation at the end of last year. He was the only candidate to file for the seat.

No one at all filed by the 5 p.m. June 17 deadline to run for the Ward 1 seat occupied by Shane Maichel, whose plans to sell his home and move outside of Boulder preclude his running for reelection.
