Two area fire departments get new equipment

Jefferson City Volunteer Fire Department takes delivery of a 2019 Ford F550 4WD wildland firefighting engine on June 20. The $130,000 vehicle is on loan from the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation and replaces the older DNRC engine at left. Fire Chief Karl “Bud” Siderits said it was a “major” example of how the state agency supports rural communities.
