Boulder-Bull Mountain volunteer firefighter Amanda Brown hoses down the remnants of an slash burn that got out of control at 210 Muskrat Rd. Saturday evening. Firefighter Steve Carey said the burn, which was not permitted as required, was contained to one-eight of an acre. Firefighter Mike “Bear” Taylor drove the six-wheel-drive water tender pictured in the background — the first time the vehicle saw service since being delivered June 20. Carey said it was specially built to access such remote residences.
