Over the last year, the Monitor has written few editorials. Unbelievable things were happening so fast it was not easy to be current. But when we heard this week that the Centers for Disease Control had been presented with a list of seven banned words/phrases, alarm bells went off. Talk about “1984” and Newspeak – censorship of the government servants warning us about health issues is frightening and unacceptable. The banned words/phrases: vulnerable, entitlement, diversity, transgender, fetus, evidence-based, and science-based.
With that in mind, we offer the following: Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land, Not a creature was speaking – those words had been banned. Health agents were hung by the study. Don’t care? It serves as a warning to all – best beware.
