Editor’s Note: The following is testimony presented January 24 in Helena on behalf of the Boulder Transition Advisory Committee.
Mr. Chairman and members of the committee. I am Jan Anderson, Editor and Publisher of The Boulder Monitor, the weekly newspaper serving the Boulder area. Today, I am here at the request of the Boulder Transition Advisory Committee, or BTAC, to share that group’s message about the Boulder Development Fund under consideration by this committee. Drew Dawson, Chair of the BTAC, is unable to attend today because of a previously scheduled out-of-state business commitment.
BTAC is a Boulder area organization established as a forum for Boulder area citizens to provide input to the MDC Transition Committee and to Federal, State and local officials about mitigating the short-term and long-range impact of the MDC transition on its clients, its employees and the Boulder area community. What you will hear today from me represents the positive cohesive community voice arrived at through a lengthy process by Boulder area citizens, community leaders and local government officials.
