Jefferson County Democrats were abuzz and abounding at the Lazy T Ranch this past Friday, welcoming U.S. Senator Jon Tester to the Boulder Valley for a final-stretch campaign reception. With the Nov. 5 general election rapidly approaching, Tester used the opportunity to reiterate his core policy positions while encouraging local supporters to more actively petition voters on his behalf.
“Jon is a powerful force for protecting and defending Social Security, Medicare, and our veterans,” said Jefferson County Democrats Co-chair Terry Minnow while introducing Tester. “We have a debt to him we can never really repay. You’re all here today to hear from him directly, but please know we also have to do our part. So don’t be afraid to speak up and talk to people!”
National and local polling places Tester between four and eight percentage points behind his Republican opponent, Tim Sheehy. Tester, in his address, claimed that the race is effectively tied, and that mobilizing Democrats across the state was key to tipping the scales and securing his reelection.
