Summer launches with Clancy Days, Mule Days

With activities filling both the northern and southern ends of the county, June 9 and 10 was the busiest weekend thus far as spring heads into summer. This weekend, the center of the county will step into the scene with the Boulder Area Chamber of Commerce City-wide Garage Sale.

“Jefferson County had quite a weekend as the event season is in full swing,” said county Event Coordinator Bruce Binkowski. “Saturday was the hugely successful Clancy Days. And before that day-long event started, hundreds of runners participating in the Governor’s Cup marathon were in Jefferson City at 6 a.m. to begin the 45th annual run. An hour later, several hundred additional runners left Clancy School at 7 a.m. to participate in the half marathon. Runners left from Jefferson County and finished in Lewis & Clark County.”

This was the first time in the Governor’s Cup 45 years that runners took off from Jefferson County. Taking advantage of the opportunity to reach runners from all across Montana and beyond, the county supplied promotional brochures in packets provided to every runner. Those brochures included information about other events and attractions in the county.
