Suicide awareness run attracts large crowd

An estimated 175 runners covered the course of the Run 4 Seventy-Five in Boulder Friday morning. The race, in its third year, was initiated in 2015 by then-JHS senior AJ Eckmann to raise suicide awareness in the wake of the death of schoolmate Denis Karasev.

This year’s turnout was the largest so far, with approximately 30 cross country team members from Broadwater High School in Townsend joining the race as they were traveling to a Saturday meet in Missoula, organizers said. Also participating were about 40 Montana City middle school students. In addition to JHS students, community members of all ages joined in.
