St. Catherine to suspend weekly Mass

As of June 4, St. Catherine's Catholic Church has suspended Saturday mass. This is the third Catholic Church in the Diocese of Helena to do so.

For the first time since its establishment in 1894, St. Catherine Catholic Church in Boulder soon will not celebrate weekly Masses.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Helena announced on June 4 that Father Gregory Lively, pastor of St. Catherine since July of 2021, will be transferred to Dillon. The Diocese attributed Lively’s transfer and the church’s closure to staff shortages.

St. Catherine’s is not the only church that has been affected by these issues, with St. Jude the Apostle in Lincoln and St. Thomas the Apostle in Helmville also being forced to suspend services.
