Jefferson High students participating in the fall sports season were not only great athletes and admirable representatives of our community; they were also academically strong, as just released team grade point averages show.
The volleyball team, while finishing fourth among all Class B teams, averaged very close to perfect academically with a 3.824. The only team exceeding that mark was the girls’ cross country team with a 3.842 average. The football team averaged 3.357 and the boys’ cross country team averaged 3.332. The community has good reason to be proud of all of them.
Now the winter sports participants take over. Practice has started for girls’ and boys’ basketball and wrestling. First action for wrestling is December first and second in Cascade. Basketball hosts Choteau for the first competition December second.
