It has been a long time since either Nancy Alley or Ellen Rae Thiel sat on Santa’s lap with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads. But last week it seemed that Jolly Old St. Nick must have heard their holiday wishes anyway.
Describing themselves as “surprised and happy,” the duo who volunteer at the Heritage Center in Boulder were presented with a $1000 check from the See N Save Shoppe.“WOW! What a wonderful Christmas gift,” said Thiel. The pair said all they could think to say is “thank you, thank you, thank you.”
The See N Save is also a volunteer organization in Boulder. It collects gently used items for resale, benefitting those who would rather see their items reused than trashed, those who purchase the reduced cost items, and many local causes who receive generous donations from the group. The Boulder swimming pool and cemetery are frequent beneficiaries.
