Scrambling for the eggs

The annual Boulder Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt had to make a quick revision Saturday when heavy snow and strong winds made an outdoor hunt impractical. According to Gary Craft, who has been helping with the event for over 40 years, this is the first time he is aware of the weather moving the celebration.

Thanks to the quick work of Boulder Elementary janitorial staff, the day was saved when protective tarps were laid on the gym floor, allowing scores of youngsters to rush out and grab the dozens of colored eggs.

Eric Rykal, another Kiwanis member, said over $1600 in prizes were collected thanks to the generosity of local businesses and citizens. And those prizes were gone in a hurry.
