Schools receive major grant

Boulder Elementary and Jefferson High School will be adding a special focus on improving literacy skills, thanks to a major grant through the State Office of Public Instruction.

The joint proposal by the two Boulder schools included a plan for improving reading/writing and digital literacy scores for children aged 4 through students in grade 12. The proposal was one of 21 across the state to receive funding from the Montana Comprehensive Literacy Project, which is funded by the federal Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Program.

“The Montana Comprehensive Literacy Project will provide BES and JHS with the added resources to improve literacy outcomes for our students,” said Boulder Elementary Principal/Superintendent Maria Pace.
