Newly-crowned state bareback champion Leighton LaFromboise is set to compete for a national title later this month after receiving travel funding from a local philanthropic organization.

The Quinn Memorial High School Rodeo, which is based in Boulder and aims to fund promising rodeo riders, gave Jefferson High grad LaFromboise $1000 to cover his expenses to participate in the U.S. national rodeo competition July 13-19 in Rock Springs, WY.
