Robotics students ‘did awesome’ in competition

The Boulder Circuit Breakers — a team of 11 Boulder-area students who have been studying robotics — “did awesome!” in the First Lego League robotics competition in Bozeman on Saturday, said one of their coaches.

“Seventy-six teams attended and we placed 33rd,” Jodi Smiley said Sunday by email. “I couldn’t be more proud of them!”

Now in its 30th season, the First Lego League announces a scientific “challenge” — this year’s was “Into Orbit” — for students at the beginning of the school year, according to the League’s website. Each challenge is comprised of a robot game, the project and “core values” that include discovery, teamwork and fun.
