Ranked choice voting is the wrong path

Jessi Bennion’s letter supporting CI-126 (Sept. 25) lacks understanding of what political parties do at local and state levels.

Ranked choice voting (RCV) is pushed by out-of-staters who can’t consistently win their party’s nominations. Rather than create their own party, they push an elaborate electoral process to accrue enough 2nd and 3rd place votes to win elections.  Three things are needed:

CI-126 – Jungle primaries where tough issues are avoided to appeal to the largest number of voters.
