Hello everyone, I have another quick update from the Jefferson County Board of Commissioner’s office.
Commissioner Leonard Wortman has been scheduling our last board meeting of the month in different locations around the county to allow more people to attend. This meeting is usually held in the evening to accommodate the folks that work during the day. Check out the weekly agenda for a meeting in your neck of the woods and come join us for a good, informative meeting.
We will be meeting with department heads starting July 8 to go over their budget requests and start the process of adopting the budget for this next fiscal year. Our departments are very good about keeping their budget in line with last year or trying to be more efficient and lower their budget requests. We won’t actually have a target budget amount, however, until the State gives us the county’s updated taxable values.
Hopefully most of you had the opportunity to attend the circus that stopped in Boulder and Whitehall last week. I attended and was very impressed. It was a quality show for the size of the circus. Our goal for bringing in these events is to help get more people into the businesses in our county. A big thank you to our events folks, Bruce Binkowski and Holli Woods, for coordinating this event. Also to Bullock Contracting for allowing us to use his property in Boulder for parking. We also appreciate Bull Mountain Fire Department in Boulder and the Whitehall Chamber for sponsoring this event.
Please check out our website at www.jeffersoncounty-mt.gov and our Facebook page as we are constantly updating them with information and events happening throughout the county.
As always, it is a pleasure and a privilege to serve the great people of Jefferson County!
