Polls open Tuesday to decide election races

Jefferson County voters will choose a Justice of the Peace, a county commissioner and a representative to the Montana House on Tuesday in addition to weighing in on state and national races and local and state ballot issues.

With the exception of Elk Park, where the polls do not open until noon on November 6, all other polling places in Jefferson County open at 7 a.m. and remain open until 8 p.m. A list of polling places, a sample ballot, and other election information appearsº on pages 6 and 7.

On the local level, incumbent county commissioner Bob Mullen faces a challenge from David Murray. During the campaign, Mullen has pointed to his experience, including 13 years as a Montana county commissioner. “I’m committed to implementing policies and programs that foster new and expanded business and industry opportunities and preserve a setting that benefits all residents through low property taxes and quality services,” he told voters.
