After a long winter logging hundreds of miles on the road and hundreds of matches in gyms across the state, it came down to this for Jefferson High’s wrestling squad: the BC State Wrestling Tournament in Billings.

Forty teams and 624 wrestlers converged on the Metra on February 8 and 9. When it was done, the Panthers found themselves in 20th place, smack in the middle of the pack. Leo Anderson took fourth at 103 pounds, a terrific showing by the freshman. And Cody St. Clair and Drake Schake both finished in the top eight.

Six Jefferson wrestlers qualified for the all-class tournament: Anderson and Dominick Davis at 103 pounds; St. Clair at 120 pounds; Eli Reed at 138 pounds; Schake at 182 pounds, and Dakota Dorn at 205 pounds.
