Panthers improve to 4-0 with win over Cougars

The Jefferson High Panthers found the going tough in the first half of their home football game with the Columbus Cougars Friday night.

Playing on a very wet field where snow had been coming down the entire day made the conditions slippery and muddy. The good thing about football is the conditions are the same for both teams and they both had trouble staying away from turnovers and penalties.

The Panther defense did its job in holding Columbus, a team that likes to throw a lot, scoreless. But four turnovers and a touchdown called back resulted in a first half goose egg for the Panther offense as well.
