Panthers go undefeated to take district crown

Lifting the championship trophy, the Jefferson High Panthers were all smiles at the end of the District 5B Volleyball Tournament in Belgrade Saturday. They had won each of their three matches in three games, beating Townsend 25-14, 25-11 and 25-12, Manhattan 25-18, 25-16 and 25-15, and Three Forks 25-17, 25-16 and 25-19.

The Panthers entered the tournament as the top seed, having won every single conference game in the regular season.

That does not mean, though, that they faced no challenges from opponents. Both the number two seed Manhattan Tigers and the number three seed Three Forks Wolves had the Panthers scrambling at times in Belgrade.
