The Panther football team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night in a closely contest- ed game on the JHS field.

Sweet Grass County of Big Timber came into Boulder with one thought on their mind: to upset the Panthers on homecoming night. It was a very tough defensive battle from both teams. The Panthers kicked off to the Herders to start the game and the defensive battle started. The Herders drove down to the seven-yard line and made four attempts to push in for a TD, but the Panther defense held.

The Panther offense struggled to get much going, and the first quarter ended with no score for either team. With 10:48 left in the second period, the Herders were able to score the first points of the game, their PAT was good and they led 7-0. The Panthers got a break in the second quarter when Big Timber fumbled and Taden Hansen got the ball on the Herder 40, but again it failed to lead to Panther points, and the half ended with the Herders up 7-0.
