Panther volleyball heads into a tough Division tournament

Jefferson High’s flag football, cross country and football runs are done, and some shiny new plaques have been added to the school trophy case. Now, all that remains of the fall sports season is volleyball.

Fortunately, that has at least another week left, as the Lady Panthers extended their post-season with a second-place finish at the District 5B tournament in Manhattan. They’ll now join the Southern Division championship at the Butte Civic Center beginning Thursday.

In Manhattan, the Panthers opened against Ennis, a team they had beaten twice in the regular season, both times in straight sets. This match was close, but the result was the same.
