Panther speech & debate team 11th at State

For the second straight year, Jefferson High School’s Speech and Debate team competed in the State Class B/C Tournament. In Huntley Project Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, the Panther team finished 12th overall, out of 27 Class B schools.

“This was a great first season for many of the JHS team, and they did a great job!” their coach, JHS Science teacher Kayla Feistner, wrote in an email. 

In the Impromptu Speaking category, London Ostby placed 10th, and team mate Victoria Campbell was right behind in 11th. Natalie Russ placed 10th overall in Original Oratory. And Kale Strozewski and Thomas Johnson placed 4th in the Public Forum Debate.
