Panther football season ends, as does final regular college season for former Panther Jered Padmos

Former Panther football player Jered Padmos, showed with family member, played his last regular season game for Montana State Nov. 23.

Montana’s high school football season ended last Saturday with championship games in all divisions. Class AA Bozeman traveled to Butte and came away with a 49-28 win, while Miles City won the Class A title with a 35-7 win over Laurel. Eureka got by Manhattan for the Class B title, 20-6; Fairview defeated Alberton-Superior, 70-6, in 8-man football; and Jordan defeated Wibaux for the 6-man crown, 70-14.

In the Brawl of the Wild, Montana State struck early and often to take its fourth straight over Montana 48-14. Jefferson High alum Jered Padmos, playing in his final regular season college game, punted twice for a 42-yard average.

Both teams finished 9-3, and both are seeded, with first-round byes, in the FCS playoffs: On December 7, #5 Montana State will host the winner of Albany and Central Connecticut State, while #6 Montana takes on the winner of Southeastern Louisiana and Villanova.
