On Thanksgiving, these turkeys trotted

The Jeffco Food Share hosted its first annual “Turkey Trot” on Thanksgiving morning, Nov. 28, with more than 60 local residents turning out to walk, jog, trot, and run a five kilometer course through Boulder. 

“I think it turned out really well for the first year,” said Boulder resident and Sweet Spot Cafe proprietor Kayla Holman, while dressed in an inflatable turkey costume alongside her daughter Addie. “We had at least three full sign-up sheets at the Sweet Spot, and I’m sure more came than that, even.”

While the Jeffco Food Share distributed or sold nearly its entire inventory of t-shirts and commemorative grab-bags, and charged $20 per adult participant, it was, at the time of this article’s publication, still determining just how much money was raised on the organization’s behalf.
