Two “not guilty” pleas were entered in Montana Fifth Judicial District Court in Boulder Nov. 13 on behalf of Tory Vincent Gee, the former Jefferson County inmate who escaped Oct. 11 and was apprehended a week later near Charlo in Lake County.
Gee, facing charges of escape and criminal mischief, appeared for his arraignment via an audiovisual connection from the Gallatin County Detention Center in Bozeman, where he has been held since shortly after his capture by U.S. Marshals.
After Gee told Judge Luke Berger that he had not spoken with his attorney, Berger told Gee he was entering “not guilty” pleas on his behalf “since you haven’t had a chance to talk to your attorney yet.”
Earlier in his court appearance Gee told the judge he hadn’t seen the paperwork outlining the charges he faces.
Berger said Gee’s bond would remain at $200,000 to “run consecutive to any other bonds from any other counties as well.”
Gee was arrested Aug. 17 and being held in Jefferson County on a Madison County warrant on suspicion of assault with a weapon with bond set at $50,000. He is on probation and has previous convictions in Beaverhead County for assault with a weapon, carrying concealed weapons and burglary, according to the Montana Department of Corrections. He is a violent offender on the Montana Sexual or Violent Offender Registry due to an assault with a weapon charge.
