Rural road maintenance districts in northern Jefferson County were on the agenda when the Jefferson County Commissioners met February 1. Over the years, the county established RMDs for Martinez Gulch, Big Dipper, Saddle Mountain, Martinez Gulch, South Hills and Moonlight Ridge, reaching varying agreements about what the RMDs must pay and what the county will provide. The varying language in the agreements has complicated matters, the commissioners said. After reviewing the agreements, the commissioners agreed to look into ways of standardizing or at least clarifying the provisions. Further notice will be given to affected homeowners and public meetings arranged to gather comments on any proposed changes, they said.
