No casualties in Montana City structure fire

On Friday. Dec. 2 at 8:25 p.m., the Montana City Volunteer Fire Department was paged to a structure fire in the South Hills area. Upon arrival fire crews found a working structure fire in the attic of a single-family, single-story residence with flames coming out of the roof. All residents had evacuated the structure. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. While there were no injuries on the incident, a St. Peter’s Ambulance was staged nearby – just in case. Estimated damage to the home is $300,000. The American Red Cross checked in to see if they could assist. 

Montana City VFD would like to thank fire departments from Clancy, Jefferson City, East Helena, East Valley, Helena, West Valley as well as St. Peter’s Health for mutual aid assistance.
