New water operator for Basin Water and Sewer board

At its Dec. 8 meeting, the Basin Water and Sewer board approved Kory Klapan as its new water operator. Klapan, Whitehall’s Public Works Director, has signed on to mentor  prospective water operators, a process that Board Director DeDe Rhodes said can take up to 18 months.

“Kudos to Whitehall and kudos to Katy James for sending [Klapan] our way,” she said. “He’s really hit the ground running by working with Triple Tree and the operators on the upcoming project to redo the lines from the main to the dwellings.”

In other business, Gail Hale was appointed to the board, filling the vacancy left when Brian Carver resigned.
