New subdivision regs for city

The Boulder Planning Board voted at its Aug. 5 meeting to recommend that the City Council approve updates to the city’s subdivision regulations, which were last updated in 2020, in response to recent changes in state law.

Among the changes, minor subdivisions will no longer require review by the City Council. Instead, the city’s subdivision administrator, Bryan Bullock, will review plans and have the authority to make decisions.

The proposed regulations also establish an expedited review process for subdivision applications that meet certain requirements. For those, once the subdivision administrator decides that a subdivision application is complete and sufficient, the Council will have 35 working days to hold a hearing and make a decision, according to Planning Board Chair LaDana Hintz. If variances are requested, the time period for a decision can be extended to 45 working days.
