Greetings JHS Panther Nation,
My name is Mike Moodry and I am honored to introduce myself as the next principal at Jefferson High School beginning in the 2018-19 school year. My family and I are genuinely excited to be moving back home to Southwest Montana.
Here is little bit of my personal background. I was born and raised in Butte. Following graduation from Butte Central High School, I attended Carroll College and graduated with a BA in secondary social studies. The last 24 years in the education field range from early beginnings at Butte Central and the last 18 years at Columbus High School. Education is truly my passion. In 2017, I completed my masters degree in Educational Leadership from Montana State. My family consists of my wife of 20 year, Stephanie, and our 5-year old boy Matthew. They are my rock!
My leadership goal is to add to the already sterling reputation of Jefferson High School. My initial contribution will be to acclimate to the positive culture and climate. This objective is to be very visible in the hallways, classrooms, and throughout the community to speak with all those who have a stake in JHS. Secondly, we need to be vigilant on communicating the vision of our school. This goal speaks to how we will, “reveal the champion” in all stakeholders. Finally, I am going to focus on creating a culture of collaboration to meet the needs of students, staff, parents, and community.
My educational philosophy is that every student who graduates Jefferson High School is a literate and compassionate life-long learner. A JHS diploma means that all young citizens have the capability to be productive and contributing members of American society.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me over that summer and introduce yourself. I look forward to our journey together.
