Do you think only “bad” parents need to take parenting classes? As I have talked with people about the upcoming “Active Parenting” class, that is the stigma that seems to be attached. How unfortunate!
The Boulder/Basin area has an opportunity to participate in a proven program that encourages cooperation, communication, responsibility, courage and self-esteem at a time when parents and other caregivers will be their most influential. What a better way to build a strong foundation to help your children make wise decisions when you are no longer their main influence.
I recognize the barriers to participation. Please don’t let the stigma of being a “bad” parent be one of them, for nothing could be further from the truth!
Our first classes will be held at Boulder Elementary School 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 7 to Dec. 19. We currently have space available.
For more information about the class please call me at 406-202-0160. – Anita McCauley, Active Parenting Facilitator
