From the first note at noon on Saturday, September 9, the Boulder Area Chamber of Commerce Music and Art Festival will feature tunes sure to have the crowd dancing. The festival, celebrating its tenth year, will be held at Veteran’s Park on Boulder’s Main Street.
Opening the two-day festival will be the Anything Goes Jazz Band, made up of former members of the Last Chance Dixieland Jazz Band.
The seasoned ensemble features musicians from Helena, Kalispell and Missoula. Although getting up in age, they can still wow an audience and get listeners dancing. Everett (Doc) Lynn will be 93 years young when he picks up his clarinet to play in Boulder. This will be the fourth year for the band at the Boulder festival, and a member of the festival organizing committee says they were asked back because “they really swing, the crowd loves them, and the dancers love to dance to their music.”
