More than 40 JHS musicians qualify for State competition

More than 40 Jefferson High musicians in 19 different entries earned top honors (superior ratings) at the District Music Festival and will be performing before judges at the State Music Festival this week.

The JHS Concert Band earned superior ratings for two entries, including sight reading. The Jazz Band also garnered the top rating from the judges. Also earning top marks was the JHS Drumline.

Other instrumentalists advancing to state include the sax ensemble, flute ensemble, and trumpet ensemble. The flute duet of Emme Rosenbaum and Jessie Molitor also will advance, along with soloists Taylor Peterson on the violin, Jessie Molitor on the flute, Samantha Allen on the clarinet, Mathias Patterson on the French horn, Kaela Rosenbaum on the sax, Kylie Marks on the euphonium and Samuel Williams on the trumpet.
