More changes in Boulder city staffing

Staffing for the City of Boulder looks a lot different now than it did before leadership changes six months ago.

Since November, when Mayor Rusty Giulio was elected on a platform of “time for a change,” three police officers, including the chief of police, have resigned leaving the town without a city police force. The city attorney position has been advertised and nine applicants, including long-time City Attorney Steven Shapiro, are under consideration.

In the most recent change, long-time City Clerk Diana Van Haecke has announced her intention to retire in early July. The city is now advertising for her replacement.
