Montana City house fire causes $250,000 in damages

Montana City volunteer firefighters operate their department’s ladder truck at a house fire Sunday evening, Sept. 1.

No one was injured in a Sunday evening house fire in Montana City that caused an estimated $250,000 in damages and roused a multi-agency response, reported Montana City Volunteer Fire Chief Lyn Stimpson.

“The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time,” he said by email Monday afternoon.

A neighbor reported the fire at the single-family home at 7:21 p.m., Stimpson wrote. First-arriving units “found an attached garage fully involved with fire extending into the main residence” and determined that no one was inside.
