A Kansas man died of injuries sustained in a rollover accident June 24 at the Boulder and I-15 interchange. Dwayne Lukowski, 50, was from Merriam, Kansas, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Craig Doolittle. Lukowski had been competing in the 60th annual Montana 500-mile endurance run for Model Ts, and the vehicle that rolled was a 1927 model. Lukowski was life-flighted to Butte’s St. James Healthcare with significant head injuries and later transported to Missoula’s Providence St. Patrick Hospital. Another man, age 77, was also in the vehicle.  He was transported to the hospital with broken ribs and minor lacerations, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

It is believed the vehicle turned too sharp and rolled. Both men were not wearing seatbelts because the car is unequipped with them, and no criminal action were investigated, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.
