Might students help seniors?

RELATED

Here is a suggestion for our Jefferson High School Board of Trustees: Boulder has a large number of Senior Citizens and also a number of able-bodied youth in our schools. Why not give students PE credit for helping senior citizens with physical chores such as yard work, snow shoveling, trash, and other projects? It would greatly benefit our seniors, teach our youth the value of serving others, and bring our community closer together. Yes, it would take some logistics to work out, but if done only one day a week, it shouldn’t be too complicated. Senior citizens could sign up for assistance, and students could be assigned accordingly.
