My husband and I attended a public hearing Monday, June 5th at the city office building regarding an approval of two Triplexes to be built on 2nd Avenue East.
The purpose of a public hearing is to allow city residents to give their point of view and ask questions to be answered. The Mayor acted totally inappropriately to us by not allowing us to say all we wanted to without being constantly interrupted by him. He didn’t like some of the questions and comments so he bullied and threatened to have someone removed by calling law enforcement twice. He was so angry he jumped up from his chair and knocked it over.
Thankfully the individual held his ground and stayed as he should because it was a public hearing and as well of his first amendment right.
The Mayor works for the residents of Boulder and by all means should respect us all! Not be the bully we experienced.
He embarrassed himself and the City of Boulder by his conduct.
