The latest game of Main Street musical chairs has commenced in Boulder, with Maddog Pizza shifting across the street into the old Panther Pit and Bull Mountain Soda Shop shutting down and planning to offer its ice cream at the new Maddog.
With Dave Schell, the owner of Dave’s 32 oz. Bar & Grill, the home of Maddog Pizza, looking to sell, Maddog owner Bruce Giulio decided to get out before being forced out.
“I don’t want to wait until the bitter end when I’ll have nowhere to go,” he said, admitting that he preferred to have a stand-alone restaurant. “I’m kind of ecstatic [about the move]. I like to have my own spot and have the liberty to do what I want.”
