After making the Class B all-state football squad as a sophomore, LUKE OXARART’S junior season was cut short by two shoulder injuries. He rehabbed quickly enough to compete in the shot put and javelin at last spring’s state track and field meet, then returned in the fall to the gridiron, his true love. “It’s the physical aspect,” he said. “I just like hitting other kids.” Converted to a running back, he averaged 150 yards per game, totalling over 1600 yards on the season, and was named all-state for both offense and defense. He’ll play safety at Montana State.
