Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt — positions she held with love and pleasure.

Lottie was born in Wolf Point on June 24, 1949. She joined two brothers and was later joined by another brother and finally a sister. She was raised in Circle, Reed Point and, for a short time, in Wyoming.

As a single mother of two small boys, she went to the Butte Business College for her graduate equivalency diploma. In 1973, she went to work for the State Welfare Office. She was later elevated to a caseworker position, much to the dismay of some of her clients who were told, “there’s nothing wrong with you, get out of my office and get a job!”

In 2002, she was diagnosed with cancer and given five years to live. Lottie retired the next year, after 30 years of service. Later, she worked at the school lunch program, was active at the Baptist Church, and served as a volunteer with the Boulder River Carousel for about 20 years.

Lottie was preceded in death by a young son, her parents and four brothers. She is survived by her husband, Jim; a son, David (Emily); grandsons Trey (Jeanie), Dylan and Jager; four great grandchildren; brother Leroy (Kathy) and sister Lana (Ed); and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

There will be no services.
