Leona Moran Olson (aka Una), of Boulder, MT, went to be with her Lord July 1st, 2018, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 9, 1934 in Poplar, MT to David and Emma Moran. She attended school in Trenton, ND and in later years lived in Williston, ND where she worked at the Mercy Hospital.
In her early twenties, she met Oliver K. Olson, a grain elevator contractor; together they loved and raised five girls and two boys. Oliver’s work took them to several different states and Canada before settling down in Brady, MT. She later moved to Conrad, MT where she bartended twenty years, and spent another twenty years as a dietary aide at Pondera Medical Center before retiring. She then moved to Boulder, MT where they built a log cabin home and lived her remaining years.
She enjoyed many crafts. She was a wonderful seamstress, had a talent for crocheting rugs from torn strips of sheets and bread sacks, embroidered pillow cases and dishtowels, quilted, and loved to can veggies, fruits, jellies and jams. She was an excellent cook and baker especially around the holidays. Christmas specials were always Lefsa and soft peanut brittle to be enjoyed with family, relatives, and many friends.
