Jurkovac, Armstrong take division crowns; State next

Jefferson High’s wrestling squad hosted the Western B/C Divisional Tournament in Butte Feb. 7 and 8 — and finished the competition in strong shape, with nine athletes qualifying for this weekend’s all-class state tournament in Billings.

Jefferson entered 12 wrestlers in the tournament on the boys’ side: Russell Douglas at 118 pounds, Korbin Rintamaki at 126, Mason Mikesell and Owen Mikesell at 132, Cooper Mikesell at 144, Mike Richard at 150, Blake Nordlinder at 165, Chrystyan Hogue at 175, Andrew Rodriguez at 190, Brady Armstrong and Dylan Stevens at 215 and Brayden Tarr at 285.

For the girls, Emma Jurkovac competed at 100 pounds, Maysa LaFromboise at 120, Megan Anderson at 135 and Madison Neely at 190.
