The month of July is behind us and the official start of school is on the immediate horizon. All new freshmen will report to school on August 20th and the entire student population will be in attendance on August 22nd. Both of these days will be early dismissal and staff will have professional development in the afternoon.
Currently, the enrollment for JHS is predicted to be nearly 270 students which include those served at Youth Dynamics. This will be the third consecutive year with an increase in enrollment.
The teaching staff has been finalized and the district is still in the process of hiring a paraprofessional and a couple of assistant coaching positions. I am excited about the new hires and their knowledge and ideas they bring to Jefferson High School. The literacy program and instructional coach will be a great opportunity to address students’ needs and provide professional support for faculty and staff.
