JHS Happenings in April

RELATED

It looks like we might get a little bit of spring weather so that the JHS spring sports can get in some competition. The state meets for golf, tennis, and track are less than a month away and the student athletes have only had a couple of meets. It should be a whirlwind finish to the spring sports season. Recently, the District Music Festival was held in Anaconda and 43 JHS students advanced to the State Music Festival to be held this coming Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th, in Helena. There were a number of individual qualifiers as well as large groups.

This past Wednesday, April 25th, the high school hosted JHS Days for all 8th graders. These future Panthers toured the school and classes, have a presentation from all club advisors, and enjoy lunch provided by the JHS student council. This was a great opportunity for all future students to see all the programs available at JHS. Over 60 future Panthers participated.

On Monday, April 16th, the JHS National Honor Society had its induction ceremony. With the new inductees, the total number of students being recognized is now 43. It is a great honor to be a part of this organization and requires diligence to meet the strict requirements of the program. Special thanks go out to Mary Williams for her great address as the guest speaker. Also, thanks to Mr. McCauley and Mrs. Foster for the growth of this program and advising NHS.
